More than 40 years ago, Rich Hudson took a self-improvement class
and was introduced to the powerful role that beliefs play in personal
achievement. His curiosity launched a life-long interest in beliefs,
behavior, and how to get great results in life.

In 1972, Rich received a B.A. from Indiana University with a double
major in Broadcast Communications and Music. His career in the
communications and entertainment fields included work as a writer
and producer, performer, composer and songwriter, recording engineer,
and television audio director. He is an award-winning songwriter and
was on the production team for two Emmy-award winning television
programs.

In 1986, Rich began studying Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP),
a technology that studies individuals’ internal strategies to identify
the beliefs and behaviors that make them successful. Those beliefs
and behaviors can then be transferred to others in what Rich calls
Human Technology Transfer™. Rich is a certified Master Practitioner
and Trainer of NLP.

In 1990, as a result of his NLP training, Rich began a year-long study
of confident public speakers. He looked for the beliefs, behaviors,
and strategies that allowed them to be confident. This groundbreaking
study is the basis of Speak Your Mind – Without Losing It™, a two-day
seminar where Rich teaches the beliefs and practice of confident public
speaking.

Rich is the author of 70 Steps to Speaking Success, a booklet of practical
tips about how to plan and present a speech. 70 Steps to Speaking Success was the subject of articles in Family Circle, Sales and Marketing Management Magazine, Crain’s Chicago Business, American Society of Association Executives Communication News, Boardroom Reports, The Secretary, and many others.

For six years Rich worked as an outside consultant for Hewitt Associates,
around the United States. In 1997, he joined Amadeus International, a
global consultancy based in the United Kingdom. Since then, Rich has
coached CEOs and Managing Directors in 14 countries on four continents
for multinational corporations, including Motorola, Unilever, Glaxo-Welcome,
and Blockbuster.

Rich developed that concepts of Belief Investing™ and Belief Leadership™
based on his coaching and training experience. His work with executives
also convinced him that it is imperative to help children build powerful,
positive beliefs, attitudes, and skills at a time when it is effortless for them
to learn — during childhood.

Welcome!

Here’s what I’ve been doing:

BeliefAbility™ Parenting Podcasts

BAP_Cover_f_300x300I developed this podcast series to help parents pass powerful beliefs on to their children. The BeliefAbility™ Parenting Podcast is not like the typical parenting fare.

BeliefAbility™ is all about understanding beliefs, how they work, and their effects on our lives. For parents especially this is important and that’s why I started this podcast. These are short programs designed for busy parents.

A feature of each podcast is a “Belief of the Week” – a peek at the improbable, uncommon, and amazing beliefs held by people and how they apply to each of us.

Listen to the podcasts on iTunes or at ParentingBeliefs.com.

The Movie-Savvy Parent —
How to use Cinematic Moments to Build Character

MSP_UdemyCourseImage_aThe Movie-Savvy Parent gives parents a way to use movies to open great conversations about life issues in a controlled environment. It provides simple steps to identify and discuss beliefs about morality, values, and character.

The video training, which can be completed in less time than it takes to watch a feature film, gives parents all the tools they need to turn the tables and use the movies to teach.

So, What Do You Do?SWDYD banner

I was chosen to be a co-author of So, What Do You Do? published by Morgan James Publishing. The book became an Amazon best seller.

amazon best seller logo“Each person has their own passion, talent, skill, ability and personality that makes them as unique as a snowflake. When we do what we were created to do, we bring a unique value to the world,” says New York Times best-selling author Joel Comm who brought together 46 “geniuses” passionate about their areas of expertise.

“When meeting someone for the first time, names and handshakes are exchanged. Invariably, one person asks, ‘So, What Do You Do?’ ” said Comm. “The question itself is an invitation to discover the genius that is available all around us if we will just listen.”

My chapter in the book is “What’s in Your Portfolio?” It tells of how a single, almost insignificant belief led to me battling years of depression. Changing that belief in my portfolio gave me almost instantaneous relief and brought about a lifelong investigation of beliefs and the language that builds them.
